Christine became interested in midwifery after choosing a home birth with the Farm Midwives in 1971. She completed her Nursing Degree in 1985 from Columbia State College in Tennessee. After ten years of nursing she went on to receive a Certificate in Nurse Midwifery in 1995 from the University of California at San Francisco.
After working as a Nurse Midwife in hospital birth she was sure that her true calling was to attend home birth and empower women who felt safest giving birth at home. These women needed more midwives who would attend them and believe in them and their desire to have a natural birth. She was able to find a midwife who needed a partner and worked many years in the practice of Carolyn Bell, CNM. She also worked as a Women’s Health practitioner at Planned Parenthood during those years.
Christine has returned to Tennessee and is happy to be able to work with the midwives who inspired her to choose a women centered career.
